AIM, NITI Aayog has Launched Aatmanirbhar Bharat ARISE-ANIC Initiative

  • Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, has launched the Aatmanirbhar Bharat ARISE-Atal New India Challenges (ANIC) initiative. It will help in boosting research and innovation in Indian MSMEs and startups.
  • The programe is being driven by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), four ministries namely, Ministry of Food Processing Industries; Ministry of Defence; Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; and Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs; and other associated industries so as to facilitate innovative solutions to different sectors.

FM Nirmala Sitharaman has launched Doorstep Banking Services for PSB

  • Finance Minister launched the doorstep banking services for public sector banks. This will facilitate the users a hassle-free and convenient banking service. The services provided by the Doorstep Banking can be availed through Agents who has been deployed by the selected Service Providers at 100 centers across the country.
  • These services can be availed at nominal charges. They would benefit all customers, particularly the Senior Citizens and Divyangs.

Through Video Conferencing Dr. Harsh Vardhan participated in 73rd session of WHO SEARO

  • Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Minister of Earth Sciences Dr. Harsh Vardhan participated in the 73rd session of the World Health Organization (WHO) South East Asia Region (SEARO) through Video Conferencing. The event is held entirely through virtual platforms due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The 73rd session is hosted by the Govt of Thailand, from  Bangkok.
  • Dr. Harsh Vardhan handed over the Charge to the new Chair Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Thailand.

Under Shikshak Parv initiative, Ministry of Education organizes School Education in 21st Century Conclave

  • Ministry of Education is organizing a two-day conclave on School Education in 21st Century under Shikshak Parv. The conclave will be held digitally from 10th to 11th September 2020. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the conclave on 11th September 2020.
  • The Conclave will focus on Principal & Teacher practitioners and discuss how they have already implemented certain themes of the National Education Policy (NEP) in creative ways.

First India-France-Australia Trilateral Dialogue Organised Virtually

  • The first India-France-Australia Trilateral Dialogue was held virtually on September 9, 2020.  The virtual dialogue focuses on enhancing the cooperation in the Indo-Pacific Region.
  • The trio discussed on economic, geo-strategic challenges and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region in the backdrop of increasing Chinese aggression. The dialogue was joined by,

    2. François Delattre, Secretary-General, French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Iran initiates armed manoeuvre near Strait of Hormuz

  • Amid the escalating tensions with the US, Iran has begun an expansive annual 3-day exercise near the Strait of Hormuz. Units from the Navy, air force and ground forces are participating in a nearly 2 million square kilometer area of the Gulf of Oman.

India, Japan ink ACSA to boost defence ties

  • India and Japan have signed the Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA) that enables reciprocal provision of supplies and services between both countries’ defence forces. This would further enhance military cooperation and contribute towards regional security.

Indian Air Force to formally induct Rafale Fighter Jets in Ambala

  • The Indian Air Force is going to formally induct the Rafale aircraft on September 10, 2010 at Air Force Station, Ambala. The aircraft will be a part of 17 Squadron called as the Golden Arrows. The first five Indian Air Force Rafale aircraft have arrived to the Air Force Station, Ambala from France on July 27th, 2020.
