During the SBI PO EWS Certificate Verification process, applicants who applied under the EWS reservation must present the EWS certificate issued by the appropriate competent body. Upon presentation of a “Income and Asset Certificate” issued by a Competent Authority on the format recommended by the Government of India for the relevant financial year as per the current DoPT rules, the benefit of reservation under the EWS category may be utilised.
The EWS candidates should be aware that they should apply under the “General” category if they don’t have a “Income & Assets Certificate” for the applicable financial year by the time the online application period closes, in accordance with the current DoPT requirements.

This is to certify that Shri/Smt./Kumari ____________________ son/daughter/wife of ____________________ permanent resident of ____________________, Village/Street ____________________ Post Office ____________________District____________________ in the State/Union Territory Pin Code whose photograph is attested below belongs to Economically Weaker Sections, since the gross annual income of his/her family is below Rs. 8 lakh (Rupees Eight Lakh only) for the financial year ____________________.

Who are all Eligible for SBI PO EWS Reservation
The Income and Assets criteria to be eligible for EWS category reservation are as follows-:
- Family Income from all sources – salary, agriculture, business, profession, etc. should be less than 8.00 Lakhs per annum.
- A family which does NOT own 5 acres of agricultural land and above.
- A family which does NOT own a Residential flat of 1000 sq ft. and above.
- Residential plot of 100 sq. yards and above should NOT be owned by the Family in notified municipalities
- Residential plots of 200 sq. yards and above, should NOT be owned by the Family, in areas other than the notified municipalities.

The benefit of reservation under GEN-EWS can be availed upon production of an Income & Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority. The Income and Asset Certificate issued by any one of the following authorities in the prescribed format (on the next page) shall only be considered valid.
