Reservation benefits under the EWS category can be obtained by presenting a ‘Income and Asset Certificate’ issued by a Competent Authority for the relevant financial year in the format supplied by the Government of India, in accordance with current DoPT rules.
Candidates for the EWS should be informed that they should apply under the “General (GEN)” category if they do not have a “Income & Assets Certificate” for the relevant financial year as per current DoPT requirements on or before the closing date of the online application.

Who are all Eligible for SSC MTS EWS Reservation
The Income and Assets criteria to be eligible for EWS category reservation are as follows-:
- Family Income from all sources – salary, agriculture, business, profession, etc. should be less than 8.00 Lakhs per annum.
- A family which does NOT own 5 acres of agricultural land and above.
- A family which does NOT own a Residential flat of 1000 sq ft. and above.
- Residential plot of 100 sq. yards and above should NOT be owned by the Family in notified municipalities
- Residential plots of 200 sq. yards and above, should NOT be owned by the Family, in areas other than the notified municipalities.

The benefit of reservation under GEN-EWS can be availed upon production of an Income & Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority. The Income and Asset Certificate issued by any one of the following authorities in the prescribed format (on the next page) shall only be considered valid.
